Arnold’s Icaro Doria and Havas Chicago’s John Norman pick their top 5

North America’s Creative Council duo round out our look back at the best works from each region, with their picks for top Cannes contenders.

Arnold / Ban 3D Printed Guns

Unfortunately, plans to successfully print firearms using 3D printers have been created. And unfortunately, there’s no legislation to regulate them. There are 3D printers in nearly every public library in the United States. We cannot allow 3D printers to become weapons factories, and this initiative works to put a spotlight on the need for regulation before it is too late.

Havas New York / IBM: GRAMMYConnect

Here’s a data and design challenge that’s as smart as it is entertaining. After scraping millions of data sources across the internet, GRAMMYConnect uses artificial intelligence to discover connections between award-winning artists and serves them up in a sleek and engaging interface.

Havas New York / Very Important Podcast

Talking about a pre-poop spray that makes your poop not stink is not easy. That’s why making a comedic podcast recorded in a public bathroom to bring this benefit to life becomes not just entertaining, but smart. Air Wick’s “Very Important Podcast: The Podcast That Doesn’t Stink” should make a huge splash (get it?) in Radio/Audio and Entertainment categories.

Arnold / Typing

Fifteen seconds of joyful, masterful performance from a great cast, to deliver on a very simple concept: get your next more fulfilling job fast with Monster.com.

Arnold / Unsung Heroes

Crafting every detail is what sets this print campaign apart. The idea is simple: truck drivers are behind each and every moment of the building of the United States, and very rarely, if ever, do we think of them when we think of the history of the United States.
