The pair will compete in the digital category this year.

"Competing at Cannes is one of the staples in the competitive part of an ad-school graduate’s mind."

The Cannes Young Lions competition highlights the innovative minds and diverse perspectives of young creatives all over the world. This year, BETC Paris’ Art Director Sebastian Regfeldt and Creative Moritz Maus are set to compete in the digital category at the global competition taking place this week.

Finish this sentence: Creativity is…generating something awesome even when you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing.

How did you two decide to partner up for the Young Lions Competition?

We’ve been working together as a team for four years, starting when we met in school. For us, it was more natural than anything else. It was love at first brief.

How did you learn about the competition?

Competing at Cannes is one of the staples in the competitive part of an ad-school graduate’s mind.

How did you feel when you heard you won and will be representing France in Cannes for the Young Lions competition?

Extremely honored and super excited!

How did you get into advertising?

Apparently, they’re doing background checks if you want to become a lawyer.

This is your first time competing at the Cannes Young Lions competition and attending the Cannes festival. What are you most excited about?

The competition, for sure. And to see if Cannes lives up to the hype. (We have good intel that it does).

How are you preparing for the competition at the global level?

A minimum of 8 hours of sleep. Every night.

When heading to Cannes, what’s the one thing you will make sure to pack?

Our deodorants. First impression is everything.

What do you hope to learn while there?

Not sure, to be honest. We’ll activate sponge-mode and soak it all up.

What excites you about the advertising industry?

The fact that there’s always a genius way to convey a message.
